Custom domain not working?
A custom domain usually fails for one of four reasons: the DNS records do not exactly match what your host asks for, conflicting A or AAAA records remain, a Cloudflare proxy blocks the host from issuing SSL, or only the apex (or only www) was added. DNS checklist
- Copy the records from your host exactly: typically an A record for the apex and a CNAME for
www, plus any verification TXT record. - Remove old A records and any AAAA records on the same name.
- Many registrars do not allow a CNAME at the apex; use the A record the host gives you (or Cloudflare's CNAME flattening if the host supports it).
- If DNS is on Cloudflare and the host issues its own certificate, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud) unless the host documents proxy support.
- Add both the apex and
wwwin the host, and pick one to redirect to the other. - If you have CAA records, allow the host's certificate authority.
- Allow time for propagation (often minutes, up to 48 hours), then re-verify in the host.
After the domain works
- Supabase: Site URL and Redirect URLs on the new domain.
- Google OAuth: authorized JavaScript origins for the new domain.
- Stripe: webhook endpoint on the final URL (Stripe does not follow redirects).
- CORS allowed origins on your API or Edge Functions.
