FIX BY SYMPTOM

Stripe payment succeeded, but the user got no access?

If Stripe shows a successful payment but your app never unlocks the account, the server never recorded it: the webhook is missing or failing in live mode, the payment is not linked to your user (no client_reference_id or metadata), or the database write is blocked. Do not rely on the success page; record access from a verified webhook. VibePitstop fixes this as a fixed-price Stripe go-live.

Where the chain breaks

Link the session to the user

const session = await stripe.checkout.sessions.create({
  mode: "subscription",
  line_items: [{ price: PRICE_ID, quantity: 1 }],
  client_reference_id: user.id,
  metadata: { user_id: user.id },
  success_url: `${SITE_URL}/billing?status=success`,
  cancel_url: `${SITE_URL}/billing`,
});
// webhook: on checkout.session.completed, grant access to
// session.client_reference_id and store session.customer

Why does Stripe say paid but my app shows the free plan?

Should I unlock access on the success page?
