FIX BY SYMPTOM
Stuck in a login loop after sign-in?
A login loop almost always means your live domain never stores or never reads the session: the provider redirects back, the app sees no session, and your middleware sends the user to /login again. Check the redirect URLs, the auth callback route, cookies and middleware matcher, in that order. VibePitstop fixes login loops in Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor and v0 apps with read-only access and a human review on every fix.
The usual causes
- Redirect URLs still point at the old origin. In Supabase, the Site URL and Redirect URLs must include your live domain, or sign-in returns to localhost or the preview URL.
- The callback never exchanges the code. With the PKCE flow, the
/auth/callbackroute must callexchangeCodeForSession(code)before redirecting. - Middleware protects the login and callback routes too. If the matcher includes
/loginor/auth, every visit bounces. - Cookies set for the wrong host. Signing in on
wwwand landing on the apex (or the reverse) loses the cookie. - Development keys on production. Clerk development instances and Firebase unauthorized domains both break sign-in on a real domain.
Check it in 5 minutes
- Open DevTools, Network tab, and sign in. Follow the redirect chain: where does it go after the provider?
- Application tab, Cookies: is an auth cookie set for your live domain after the callback?
- Read your provider's auth logs for the failed exchange.
// app/auth/callback/route.ts (Next.js + @supabase/ssr)
const code = new URL(request.url).searchParams.get("code");
if (code) await supabase.auth.exchangeCodeForSession(code);
// middleware.ts: never guard the routes that create the session
export const config = {
matcher: ["/((?!_next/static|_next/image|favicon.ico|login|auth).*)"],
};

Common worries, answered
- Will you mess up my repo? No. We work from read-only access, and every fix arrives as a pull request. Nothing merges until you merge it.
- Is this just more AI? AI coding agents help prepare fixes. A human reviews every fix before it ships.
- What if it still breaks? We keep working until the written scope is done, at no extra cost. Fixed, or we keep working free until it is (within the written scope).
- What about Stripe and my secret keys? Scoped access only. We never take full keys or owner logins; your secrets stay yours.
- How is this different from asking ChatGPT? We don't stop at advice. We fix and launch against a written scope.

FAQ
Why does login work on localhost but loop on my domain?
The provider is still configured for localhost or the preview URL, or the session cookie is set for a different host than the one you land on.
Is a login loop a security problem?
Usually not by itself, but rushed fixes often are, such as disabling middleware or trusting a user id from the browser.
Who can fix a login loop in my Lovable or Bolt app?
VibePitstop does, as an auth & database security fix, from $400 (one issue); larger scope quoted up to $800 after diagnosis.
